The EcoEagles team leader Vince Sabitini got some new ink over the weekend... the Matlab Logo...
Vince explains why the tattoo is important to him: “I have always been a fan of MATLAB, and I like the interesting design of the logo, the 3D Mesh, so I decided to get the logo on my chest, so MATLAB is always close to my heart.” |

Sudents from a local EcoCAR team, the Embry-Riddle EcoEagles, made an impressive display at the Daytona Kennel Club’s 2009 Earth Day event. The event featured many local vendors of “green” technology for home and businesses, including solar panels, low-electricity LED lighting, and non-toxic chemicals for industrial cleaning. Local car dealerships had hybrid vehicles on display, with representatives available to answer questions about their performance and environmental impact. EcoEagles Members Vincent Sabatini and Kamau Kelly talk about the team to event attendees.
The EcoEagles, with a big focus of the event being environmental education, were a headline presenter at the event. Team members were on hand to talk about environmental issues, hybrid vehicle technology, ways for everybody to be more “green”, and of course about what the team is doing, both for the competition and in the community in general. The EcoCAR competition is a three-year collegiate advanced vehicle technology engineering competition that challenges 17 universities across North America to explore solutions to achieve improved fuel economy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, while retaining the performance and consumer appeal of a 2009 Saturn Vue. The competition is primarily sponsored by General Motors and the Argonne National Laboratory, a Department of Energy lab. For more information about the ERAU EcoEagles, visit their website at http://www.EcoEagles.org. For more information about Earth Day, please visit http://earthday.envirolink.org/history.html Vincent Sabatini is a graduate Mechanical Engineering student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and is the EcoEagles Team Leader. |
